De in Brussel wonende kunstenaar David Helbich startte met Belgian Solutions in 2006. Toen Helbich zijn foto's in 2008 begon te verspreiden via Facebook (de Belgian Solutions-pagina heeft inmiddels meer dan 23.000 fans) begon het project in razend tempo te groeien met bijdragen van Belgian Solutions-spotters van over de hele wereld. Bij Luster verschijnt nu de derde, geactualiseerde en opgefriste druk van de oorspronkelijke uitgave. Kunstenaar David Helbich (1973) werd geboren in Berlijn. Hij studeerde compositie en filosofie in Freiburg en in Amsterdam en woont sinds 2002 in Brussel. Hij is sound-, installation- and performance artist en als conceptueel kunstenaar cree¨erde hij al verschillende experimentele werken voor toneel, papieren en online media en voor de publieke ruimte. Hij is ook actief als street photographer. Momenteel verblijft hij als artist in residence in New York.
