Cris Toala Olivares maakte zo in dit boek zijn eigen "schilderijen" van Amsterdam en legde de dynamiek van deze levende stad op een pure, authentieke manier vast.

Like Rembrandt three centuries ago, Cris Toala Olivares uses his knowledge of Dutch light and his expedition approach to capture Amsterdam from all angles. For this book, he flew in helicopters above the city, climbed church towers and apartment buildings, walked through squares and parks, photographed from a boat on the water, but also swam underwater. He spoke with residents and visitors and studied the city for 10 years and during 4 seasons. In this book, Cris Toala Olivares created his own "paintings" of Amsterdam and captured the dynamics of this vibrant city in a pure, authentic way.
